Clinton Kids’ Club
Clinton Kids’ Club (CKC) is the after-school club managed and run by school, and based in the Innovation Lab. It is an extension of the Clinton family, with most staff having other roles within school, thus facilitating a smooth transition from the end of the day into wraparound care.
CKC operates from 3.10pm until 6pm and offers a wide range of activities. Children can relax and read a book, play a board game with their peers, engage in role play/imaginative/construction activities or paint and create. If they are feeling more energetic, they can play with a variety of equipment outside or join in with organised games. Many children will often complete their homework activities whilst they are at the club, supported by staff if needed.
The older children in our care thrive on being able to support the younger ones in their activities, and being able to mix with all age groups provides the youngest with the confidence to interact with other children around school.
Whilst children are at CKC, they are offered a healthy snack, mainly consisting of fruit and vegetables. Food is presented buffet-style and everyone is encouraged to choose when, and what, they want to eat. This very much echoes the ethos of CKC, where children develop independence through making supported choices and decisions.
There are several staff who support the children at CKC, including myself, who you can meet on the 'Our People' section of our website!
